This describes what RollingSlow collects, why, and how long it is kept.

Who we are

RollingSlow is a members-first car club operating in the United Kingdom. For questions about your data, contact us at our contact page.

What we collect

  • Account details you give us: name, email address, and optionally a display name, phone number, location and date of birth.
  • Your cars, where you add them to your garage.
  • Event activity: which events you RSVP to, the parking zone allocated, and whether you were checked in at the gate.
  • Messages you send us through the contact form, and any newsletter or waitlist sign-up.
  • Enquiry details if you ask us to keep you posted about tours or membership: your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, address, postcode and what you drive.
  • Site usage: pages visited, times, approximate device type, and how long a page was open. See "Analytics" below.

Why we hold it

Account, car and event data is needed to run the club and admit you to events. Newsletter and marketing email is sent only where you have opted in, and every such email can be unsubscribed from. If you ask us to keep you posted about tours, we use the details you give us to contact you about tours and membership and nothing else. We do not share or sell them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. Site usage is collected under legitimate interest, to understand which pages are useful and when events should be announced.

Analytics

Our analytics are first-party and self-hosted. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising network and no third-party tracking script, and your data is not shared with or sold to anyone.

Where you are signed in, page visits are associated with your account, which lets us see which parts of the club are used. Detailed event records are deleted after 90 days; only anonymous aggregate counts are kept beyond that. If you delete your account, your history is unlinked from you immediately.

Cookies

We set first-party cookies only, and no advertising cookies:

  • Session cookie — keeps you signed in and protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
  • Remember me — only if you ask us to keep you signed in.
  • rs_sid — groups page views into a single visit for 30 minutes. It contains a random identifier and nothing about you.

How long we keep things

Account and event records are kept while you are a member and for as long as we need them for club records. Detailed analytics are deleted after 90 days. Contact messages are kept until they are dealt with and for a reasonable period after.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can delete your own account at any time from your profile page, which removes your account, your newsletter and waitlist entries and your messages, and unlinks your usage history. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
